There is a one touch speed dial that controls the 2 speed settings of 0-400RPMs and 0-1200RPMs. To help with give precision and high torque driving it also has a 22 level clutch.
For ease and speed changing drill bits, the DS18DFL has a ½ inch in size chuck that doesn’t require a fiddly key to open and close it. This is excellent when you are in a tight spot and need a quick bit transfer. Hitachi have thought about health and safety too by including their patented 5-setting belt hook that has a bit holder integrated into it for even more convenience. They have improved the design so that it’s ergonomic and no slip, making it a dream to use.
